The Cook Brothers Quartet sang on the TV broadcast “Let the Bible Speak” originating from Springfield, MO for several years in the 1960’s and early 1970’s. These recordings were done at KYTV-TV on July 20, 1973. The quartet at that time was composed of Clovis Cook (Tenor); Greg Gay (Lead); Travis Cook (Baritone); and Homer A. “Sonny” Gay, Jr. (Bass).

From our LTBS vault, a classic broadcast of Let the Bible Speak with Ronny Wade from the mid-1960’s. This sermon was the beginning of a series on innovations in religion. It was originally aired on KY3-TV in Springfield, MO. Bro. Wade hosted the program there for the majority of a span of 45-years. He continues to preach at home in Springfield and across the country in gospel meetings.

In this ‘LTBS Classics’ video, we go all the way back to the beginning of the Let the Bible Speak television work. On October 20, 1963, the churches of Christ who use one loaf and one cup in the Lord’s Supper, entered the field of television evangelism. Bro. Ronny Wade was the original and long-time host of the program originating in Springfield, MO. The singing was done by the Gospel Lamplighters, a group organized and managed by M. Lynwood Smith and also the Cook Brothers Quartet. The program was shot on 16mm film. Enjoy this rare look at the beginning of what was to become a fruitful ministry spanning more than 55 years.
