Business interests led an ancient woman faraway from her home to the Macedonian city of Philippi. The lack of a Jewish synagogue did not hinder Lydia from devoting the Sabbath Day to God and to prayer. She and other pious women were known to gather for prayer along the riverside each week. God sent the apostle Paul on a mission to interrupt that meeting. The result was the beginning of one of the greatest churches in history. In today’s broadcast of Let the Bible Speak, we continue our series ‘Jesus Saves’ and we follow Lydia and her friends “Down To The River To Pray.”
