The conscience can be described as a courtroom within the heart. It judges our behavior as to whether or not it is in accordance with the law. This internal judge does not make law but rather upholds the law within our mind. Not all consciences are fully prepared to do this reliably and some are severely damaged so that they do not function as God designed them. Can we trust our conscience to guide us in matters of religion? If our conscience approves our behavior does that make it right in the sight of God? Should we “follow our heart” in spiritual matters? In this broadcast of Let the Bible Speak, we ask Is Conscience A Good Guide?
