Don’t you dislike an unhappy ending? The story of an ancient prophet of Israel began with great promise. The young man was courageous and fiercely loyal to God’s command. But the mission that started so well ended in tragedy. At some point, this nameless prophet’s faith faltered and he was deceived. His resolve melted away under the charm of an older, nefarious prophet. The story goes to show us how easy it is for anyone to be misled by the claims of others in religion. In this sermon, ‘Lessons Learned Too Late’, we learn lessons that this prophet learned in his own death.
