Jesus of Nazareth was a controversial figure in the first century. Some believed His claim of being the Son of God but others were skeptical or flatly rejected Him. One day, Jesus posed a question about the Messiah promised in the Old Testament scriptures that the unbelieving Pharisees could not answer. He asked “What think ye of Christ; whose son is he?” They knew the scriptures foretold that the Messiah would be a son of David. It was a documented fact that Jesus was the Son of David. Jesus then asks them why David called the Messiah his Lord in Psalm 110. This crushed their argument that Jesus was automatically guilty of blasphemy because He claimed to be the Son of God as well as the Son of David. Still today, some believe and some reject the Christ. In this broadcast of Let the Bible Speak, we continue the series “Great Question Of The Bible” with Christ’s query: “What Think Ye Of Christ?”
